Worldbuilder —

I can't wait to see what you come up with! The established universes of Dragon Age and Labyrinth leave plenty of room for the imagination; likewise, there isn't much limiting the direction you take with original works.

I'll leave the usual list of likes and dislikes below, but please don't feel obligated to incorporate my likes. If the story you're imagining can't be complete without one of my dislikes, I only ask that you tread gently.

Thank you! I've chosen relationships that I love to read about (or in the case of crossover or original works, relationships I would love to read about), so I can't wait to see which we matched on!

For each relationship, I've include a few prompts, but feel free to choose from the tropes I've listed in my Likes… or ignore these suggestions all together and write whatever you want.

Aside from the Dislikes I've listed, I'm open to most anything. Write any rating you want, or feel free to experiment with style, structure, canon, whatever.

Thank you! I'm so excited to read whatever you decide to write! Each of these relationships needs more fic, in my opinion—yes, including those I picked for Original Work—so I can't wait to see which we matched on.

Thank you! I say this every exchange, but it bears repeating that I do love each of these fandoms, and I know that I'll enjoy whatever you write. With this letter, I've tried to give as much insight as I can about why I love these fandoms and relationships, as well as things I love in general. I do ship the characters in each of my requests — and would love shipfic — but as long as their relationship (however you interpret that) is central to the fic, I'll be thrilled.

I've listed prompts for each request, but feel free to just choose a trope or situation from my lists of likes. I've tried to limit the number of prompts I give with tropes, because I know that doesn't work for everyone, but I love tropes tremendously. Whatever inspires you, go for it!

Again, thank you! Happy Yuletide!

Thank you! I love autumn (and Halloween), so I can't wait to see what you come up with. Because I went with so many requests (and because the required word count is so low) I've kept these simple: preferred relationships (gen and ship), trick prompts, and treat prompts. For most of the requests, I ship the two characters listed, but I enjoy genfic for either/both of them as well.

My only request is this: Please do not kill any of my requested characters. Other characters can die, but I'd prefer my requested characters survive.

Otherwise, I'm just happy to have more fic for any of these characters, so go wherever your ideas take you!

Thank you! I absolutely can't wait to see what you come up with. As I wrote this letter, I got excited about the idea of receiving fic for ALL of these relationships, so however we matched, I know I'm going to read something great.

Thank you for writing for me! I apologize for the absolutely absurd length of this letter. I tried to keep each crossover suggestion brief, but as you can see, I failed in some instances. Use whatever helps you, discard the rest. Can't wait to read what you come up with — I'm sure I'll love it.

Thank you! I'm thrilled that soon there'll be another fic for one of these pairings. Below the cut you'll find a little info about me — including likes and dislikes — followed by my requests and prompt suggestions. But I'm easygoing, I swear! Write the two characters in our matching relationship interacting in a meaningful way, avoid my dislikes, and I can say with confidence that I'll love whatever you write.

Thank you! Each of my requests feature characters and/or relationships I love; so however we matched, I can't wait to read what you write.

Below, you'll find the basics and the requests. I've included prompts — just in case — but you shouldn't feel obligated to use them. No need to worry about spoilers, by the way. I'll be up-to-date on all canons when the archive goes live.

Below, you'll find the basics about me, followed by the specifics of my requests. Clicking on the arrow (→) will take you to my Tumblr tag for that relationship. For each relationship, I've tried to leave a few ideas for each AU. However, don't feel obligated to use them — let the AU takes you where it takes you.

I'm seeing Age of Ultron opening weekend in the states, so feel free to include details from the film. You can also choose to combine AUs and prompts, if you like.

Whatever you write, I'm certain I'll enjoy reading it. Thank you!

Yuletide Writer,

This year, I've requested four new (or new-to-me) fandoms with too few fics, so I can honestly say that I look forward to reading whatever you write. I've provided a few prompts for each fandom, but if you have an idea you'd prefer to write, please do! And although I mostly requested characters I ship, don't feel obligated to pair them romantically in your fic.

Beside each fandom, you'll find a star (☆) and a heart (♥︎). The star will take you to my Tumblr tags for the fandom; the heart will take you to my Tumblr tag for the ship. After my requests, you'll find some basic info and likes/dislikes.

Thank you, writer, and happy Yuletide! ... )

Greetings, Trick or Treater!

Thank you for writing for me. Let me just say: I love all of the characters, and I love fic, so I'll love whatever you write. Below, you'll find some basic info and my standard lists of likes/dislikes. In short, I love tropes, but I'm not much into kinks.

Thank you! I'm pretty excited about the idea of reading more fic for any of these pairings, so I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Behind the cut, there's general info (likes, dislikes, etc), as well as some info about why I love each of these pairings. There's also a couple prompts for each pairing, but really, please feel free to write anything you like for them.

galfridian: @graphicjunkie (Default)
THANK YOU! It's so awesome you're participating in this little exchange, not just because I get fic from you, but because you're part of making this possible. So yes, you got a mod, but I hope that doesn't make you wary. In general, I'm pretty easygoing; for this exchange, I'm happy with whatever. My desire to read ALL THE CROSSOSVERS EVER outweighs any thought I might have about a "perfect" fic. So please, have fun!

Behind the cut, you'll find a little more information about me (likes, dislikes, etc). You'll also find all the optional details for my requests. I tried to group fandoms with commonalties (with the exception of Pacific Rim, because really, who needs commonalties when you have characters as Jaeger pilots?), which I hope helps you, Writer. There are prompts for some of these potential crossovers, but not all of them. But in all seriousness, I want to read ALL of these crossovers, so whichever one you pick, I'll be thrilled.

(I've also included favorite characters/pairings. Feel free to include any of them, but I'll understand if you have other favorites you'd prefer to write about. Also, if you want to write crossover pairings, please do. I'll ready any!)

galfridian: @graphicjunkie (Default)

I'm excited you're here! Either you offered the two characters on the fandom we matched on — which is awesome because I love each of these characters a lot — or you were willing to roll the dice and offer any characters. Whatever the case, I'm happy for the opportunity to receive fic from you.

galfridian: @graphicjunkie (mcu - mh -)

I'm so sorry this letter wasn't ready when assignments went out! It's been a crazy week. Hopefully, you weren't too stressed waiting.

I feel like I should also apologize for the length of this letter! I tried to provide as much detail as possible, in case you want it. But optional details are optional; if my prompts don't work for you, that's fine. Interpret the AUs AND the pairings however you want. You don't have to use my prompts, and I'm always happy to see someone else's perspective on a pairing.

Hello! Thank you for writing for me! I love all of these pairings, so I'm thrilled you're writing one of them.

I'll try to keep this short and simple. I'm galfridian everywhereAO3 | LJ | Tumblr | Twitter – so it shouldn't be difficult to dig up some info on me, if you're so inclined. But if you do have a question you can't find an answer to, feel free to contact [personal profile] weasleytook. She'll have all the answers!

A few of my likes: character studies, world building, banter and UST, slow-build romance, and hurt/comfort.

I also love tropes like alternate universes, apocalypses, crossovers, fake relationships, found families, and time travel.

I'm not so fond of a/b/o, abuse, bestiality, dub-con/non-con, gore, or incest. (I'm afraid my tastes are a little vanilla, especially for fandom.)

But I think I'm fairly easy to please, so as long as nothing from my "dislikes" crops up, I don't necessarily need anything from my "likes."

[personal profile] damalur requested Ender's Game.

I first read bits of Ender's Game...sometime before 2006. Maybe when I was a sophomore or junior in high school, so 2003/2004? For whatever reason, I didn't finish it at that time. (Probably my habit of starting a book and then getting distracted by another.) But I liked it enough that eventually I decided to reread what I had of it.

I want to talk about that first time I read through the entire book. I loved sci-fi and space and all those great things before Ender's Game, but this was the book that made me realize I could never, ever get enough. Orson Scott Card is a prime example of loving a fandom but not its creator. There are definite patterns to his writing -- and his beliefs and religion certainly leak into the pages some -- but I still thoroughly enjoy it. In fact, after I finished Ender's Game, I read his Homecoming Saga. (This was the point where I learned he was a Mormon, because I was reading it and thinking, "Wow, these relationships are wayyy too much like some of the relationships in the Bible for it to be a coincidence." [And it wasn't. But it also wasn't the Bible per se, which explains some of the differences.])

Anyway, I remember two things most vividly from reading it the first time:

First, Ender's discovery of the Queen waiting for him in the tunnels and the realization (both his and mine) that she had been trying to communicate with him all this time. I was much more impacted by that scene than by the one where Ender realizes that he's just committed genocide. When I saw the movie, I cried, and when I reread the book afterward, I cried.

Second, Peter and Valentine's part in the story. Their story doesn't connect much to Ender's until closer to the end, and he has so little interaction with either of them within in Ender's Game, but I remember being so enthralled with what they were doing on Earth. Seeing Peter at his most human (and wondering whether it was genuine) and seeing Valentine at her most...well, at her most like Peter, was something I couldn't get enough of. I remember wishing there was so much more of them, maybe because they were impacting events on Earth in a real way, shaping the future of Earth, and obviously, I felt so much of a connection to Earth because that's what I actually know. (You know, as opposed to a war with aliens, which I can't in any way empathize with.) But also, we have these two brilliant kids completely leading adults around. I loved it.

When I reread the book after seeing the film, I have to say that their relationship to Ender really stood out more than the first time I read it, and I liked that too. Peter/Valentine/Ender have such a compelling dynamic. I was really disappointed that we saw none of Peter and Valentine's story in the film, although I wasn't actually surprised.

So yeah, now I'm working my way through the rest of the series, so we'll see how that goes.

OOPS. Ishie requested this for yesterday, but I'm forgetful and ridiculous!

First fictional boyfriend, huh? My interest in boys developed pretty early, as did my tendency to like older ones, so my first fictional boyfriend was probably Tommy Oliver (the original Green/White Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) or Zack Morris.

So I was like seven at the time? Something like that? And I still maintain that these were good choices. If you didn't want to get on the Green Ranger or Zack Morris, I don't know what you why you were watching either of those shows.

(Tommy/Kimberly was one of my earliest OTPs, for the record. And I also remember being super into Zack/Jessie in that one episode where she was Snow White.)

They will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject.

Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet.
